Mangaluru: Kanachur Institute of Nursing Sciences launches Youth Red Cross

Mangaluru, Jan 17: Youth Red Cross Unit of Kanachur College of Nursing Sciences inauguration and orientation was done on January 11 at Kanachur Hospital and Research Center (KHRC).

On this Occasion Dr Ifthikar Ali - president Indian Association Physiotherapy, Sacheth Suvarna - director, Youth Red Cross, Indian Red Cross society D K District, Haji U K Monu - chairman, Kanachur Islamic Education Trust, Abdul Rahiman - director, Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences, proffesor Molly Saldanha - principal, Kanachur College of Nursing Sciences, Dr K G Kiran - dean, Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences, Dr Harish Shetty - medical superintendent, and Dr Rohan Monis - chief medical administrative officer, KHRC were present on the dais.

The Kotekar Panchayath members Harish Rao and Salimabi M and Nitha Coelho, programme officer also presented in the programme committee of Youth Red Cross Unit of Kanachur College of Nursing Sciences.

The Youth Red Cross Unit was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries. Dr Ifthikar Ali, the chief guest addressed the gathering and appreciated the initiation to start the unit at this college. He also recognized the Kanachur Management for providing extensive support for this movement. Sacheth Suvarna the guest of honour in his key note address highlighted the importance of humanitarian services in the current scenario. Haji U K Monu, chairman in his presidential address expressed the importance of youth involvement in the services to the humanity he also added that as a nursing professional the students must provide best service to the society.

The programme ended with the national anthem. Sacheth Suvarna oriented the volunteers about Youth Red Cross society. Ann Maria Sunny was the master of ceremony of the programme. Nitha Coelho, programme officer of Youth Red Cross unit gave welcome speech and Sherin Joseph presented Youth Red Cross executive committee member of the unit and Ann Barnes proposed the vote of thanks.
