Ashwath promises govt support for setting up Watch Park in state

Bengaluru, Jan 19: The State Government would extend all the needed support to setup a watch park in the state if the stakeholders of the watch industry come forward, Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, Higher Education and IT/BT and Skill Development Minister, assured on Thursday.

Participating in the inaugural event of 'Samaya Bharathi-2023' organised by 'India International and Clock Fair,' he said the government has made the norms flexible to facilitate setting up of industrial parks and because of new rules procurement of land has become easy.

Stakeholders of any industry can establish, run and manage their industrial parks themselves and government would play the role of enabler and facilitator, he explained.

Saying that the watch industry would continue to be in demand, Dr Narayan said the required skilled man power would also be made available for the industry.

"Now the government has been emphasising on skilling of students along with learning. Learning and skilling have been integrated. The government would provide skill trainings to youth as per the industry requirements," he stated.

Bhaskar Bhat, Yagna Narayan, veterans from watch industry, CEO of Samaya Bharathi Hemanth, Suparna, CEO, Titan, Deepak, Vinod were among those who were present.
