Mangaluru: Accused gets car registered in his name by producing fake documents, plaint filed

Mangaluru, Jan 20: A case of cheating has been registered against Rajesh Kumar Shetty for getting a car valued at Rs 24 lac registered in his name by cheating.

Darshan Rai is the complainant in this case. Rai's father's elder sister Geetha T Punja and her husband P Thimmappa Punja had died and were issueless.

As per Thimmappa's will which was registered while he was alive his car valued at Rs 24 lac had to be handed over to Veena K Rai and Ashajyothi Rai. But the complainant said in his complaint that Rajesh Kumar Shetty had forged Thimmappa Punja's signature and had produced fake documents to the Mangaluru RTO claiming ownership of the Rs 24 lac car which was duly registered in his name by cheating.

A case of cheating has been registered with Mangaluru south police.
