Mangaluru: Gang attempts to kill policemen on duty

Mangaluru, Jan 21: A gang of five men tried to kill two policemen on duty on the late night of January 19 at Tuppekallu of Arkula village.

Mallikarjuna Angadi and Pradeep Naganagowda, constables attached to Mangaluru rural police station were on patrolling duty on the night of January 19. At around 2 am, when they reached the concrete road of Tuppekallu, they saw two strangers standing near a car. There were three men sitting inside the car.

As the cops questioned the men, they threw stones at them. In addition, the gang tried to run the car over the policemen. The cops jumped in time to the side of the road and saved themselves.

A case under obstruction to on-duty policemen and attempt to murder is registered against the accused.
