Udupi: Malpe beach festival concludes on grand note

Udupi, Jan 23: The three days long Malpe beach festival held here as part of the silver jubilee of the district concluded successfully on Sunday, January 22. Thousands of tourists took part in various games and celebrated.

Several competitions such as Beach Throw ball, creation of Sand sculptures, drawings, Dog show, Food festival etc. were held.

A yacht had arrived from Mumbai specially to attract the tourists. Udupi MLA Raghupati Bhat inaugurated the services. The yacht from Mumbai based Royal Marine has two bedrooms, kitchen and cabin deck facilities. The yacht will be available for tourists in Malpe for the next twenty days.

More than 200 dogs of more than 28 breeds took part in the Dog show competitions. Prizes were distributed to the best dogs.

A musical programme by well-known singer Raghu Dixit was held in the evening. Udupi MLA Raghupati Bhat and deputy commissioner Kurma Rao, danced to the songs of Raghu Dixit and won the hearts of the gathering.
