Mangaluru: St Agnes school celebrates the feast of patron Saint

Mangaluru, Jan 23: St Agnes is one of several virgin martyr's commemorated by name in the canon of the mass. She is, among other patrocinies, a patron saint of virgins, girls and chastity.

She suffered martyrdom at the age of thirteen on January 21, 304.


St Agnes CBSE School along with other institutions in the campus commemorate this day every year. A meaningful prayer service was organised at the school assembly by the students followed by a meaningful cultural programme to add true beauty to this day.

A mesmerising welcome dance was presented along with a beautiful and melodious song, A tableau on life of St Agnes was enacted by the students with depicting the virtues of St Agnes.

It was truly a blessed experience for the students to perform for this great patroness. The students also participated in the holy eucharistic celebration to commemorate this important day.

Sr Lenita Lobo the vice principal being the chief guest congratulated the students on presenting a meaningful performance on life and virtues of St Agnes along with her sharing of knowledge of wisdom about this great martyr. She stressed to live by the virtues of St Agnes to live a pure and contended life.

This programme was well coordinated by teachers Josephine and Krithi along with students of grade VII and II.

The programme was compered by Shannon Saldanha. The gathering was cheerfully welcomed by Siyona Kuruvilla and the vote of thanks was proposed by Prasiddhi thanking all for the wonderful participation.

The management is grateful for the great service given by all in the school following the virtues of St Agnes and continue to wish success in the future.
