Bantwal, Jan 23: “People of not only the state but the country have decided to throw away the Congress,” said state BJP vice-president B Y Vijayendra.

He was speaking at the concluding ceremony of the tenth day of the BJP's Gramadedege Shasakara Nadige rally held under the leadership of MLA Rajesh Naik at Koila today.

“The condition of Congress is like the fish out of water,” he said.

















“Prime Minister Modi is taking the country on the path of progress. Package of more than Rs 1,000 crores has been finalised for Bantwal because of the rapport of B S Yediyurappa with the coastal region,” he said.

“The prime minister is working day and night for the country to attain self-sufficient in all the sectors. The national highway that was only 70,000 kilometres long when he took over as prime minister has been developed to 1.65 lac kilometres now. Drinking water is being supplied to 35.50 lac houses and PM Kisan yojana has reached 50 lac families," he said.

“BJP should be in power if it has to win 25-26 seats during the next Lok Sabha elections,” he said.

Kasargod district BJP president Kuntaru Ravisha Tantri said rallies by foot are being conducted in 280 mandalas in Kerala to root out the anti-people government.

Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik said that his entry to politics was unexpected and he has been in politics since 2014 due to the persuasion of party elders.

Bantwal BJP president Devappa Poojary presided over the programme. Keonics president Harikrishna Bantwal, former MLA A Rukmaya Poojary, K Padmanabha Kotary, city water supply and drainage board director Sulochana J K Bhat, district BJP media head Sandesh Shetty, rally co convener Madhava Mave, Sudarshan Baja, Panjikallu grama panchayat president Sajiva Poojary, Rai grama panchayat president Rathna Anand and Mandala chief secretary Ravish Shetty Karkala were present.

Rally convener B Devadas Shetty explained the work done by Rajesh Naik in the block. Block secretary Ramanath Rai welcomed. Chief secretary Dombaya Arala compered the programme. Rai grama panchayat vice-president Rashmit Shetty rendered the vote of thanks.
