Karkala, Jan 23: "Word of God helps in cultivating good habits and to become social," said Dr Gheevarghese Mar Macarios Kalayil, Bishop of Puttur Siro Malankar diocese.

He was the chief celebrant for the second day of annual feast eucharistic celebrations here in St Lawrence Minor Basilica. In his homily, he said, "Those people bring praise to the lord who live according to the word of God. Life which gives praise to the almighty is really satisfactory."

On the second day of the annual feast, thousands of devotees visited the shrine and took part in the prayers and eucharistic celebrations.

Special prayers were offered for those who preach the gospel.

 

Fr Sunil Dominic Lobo, Perampalli, Fr Clifford Fernandes, Kulshekar, Fr Pradeep Cardoza, Moodubelle, Fr Albert Crasta, Pius Nagar, Fr Santhosh Rodrigues, Mangaluru, Fr Dr Leslie D'Souza, Shirva celebrated the other eucharistic celebrations of the day.

Dr Lawrence Mukkuzhy, bishop, Diocese of Beltangady will preside over the Holy Eucharistic celebration on Tuesday, January 24 at 6 pm. The mass will be celebrated in Kannada.

During the next three days of the festival (Monday to Thursday), Eucharistic celebrations will be held at 8 and 10 am, 12 noon and at 2, 4, 6 and 8 pm.
