Tourist Inflow to India up by Seven Percent


New Delhi, Jun 4 (IANS): Nearly 369,000 tourists came to India in the month of May, an increase of about seven percent from the same period last year, a government release said Friday.

A rise was also registered in the Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEE) during the month of May, at Rs.5,047 crore, compared to Rs.4,358 crore in May 2010 and Rs.3,249 crore in May 2009, the statement added.
