Udupi: Devotees throng St Lawrence Minor Basilica Attur on fourth day of annual feast

Karkala, Jan 25: Scores of devotees thronged to St Lawrence Minor Basilica at Attur on the fourth day of the annual feast on Wednesday, January 25.

Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, bishop emeritus diocese of Mangalore celebrated the main holy Eucharistic celebrations at 10 am.

In his homily he said, “Our loving almighty will be with us all the time. We need to identify His presence in all our day to day activities and love Him and do good to others for becoming His witnesses. Almighty present in the Holy communion graces us to become His witnesses."

Fr Herald Periera, Udupi, Fr Santhosh Menezes, Mangaluru, Fr Stany D’souza, Shivamogga, Fr Sunil D’silva, Sastan, Fr Valerian Mendoca, Kallianpur celebrated the other Eucharistic celebrations of the day. Fr Alban D’souza, rector, celebrated the Eucharistic celebrations in Kannada. Special prayers were offered for the sick.

On the fifth day of the festival, Eucharistic celebrations will be held at 8, 10,12 in the morning and at 2,4 and 6,8 in the afternoon.

Dr Bernard Moras, archbishop emeritus Bangalore archdiocese will preside over the mass on Thursday, January 26 at 10 am. The Mass will be celebrated in Konkani.
