Mumbai (RBI), Jan 26: Maharashtra Governor Koshyari unfurls national flag at Republic Day State function.
The Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari unfurled the National Flag and delivered his Republic Day Message to the people on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the Republic of India at the State function held at Shivaji Park in Mumbai on Thursday, January 26.
The Governor inspected the ceremonial parade and read out his Republic Day Speech in Marathi.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Chairperson of State Women's Commission Rupali Chakankar, MP Rahul Shewale, Diplomats from various countries, Chief Secretary Manu Kumar Shrivastava, senior government officers of the Armed Forces, Administration and Police were present. The Governor exchanged Republic Day greetings with the invitees on the occasion.
Marching columns of the Indian Navy, Telangana Police, SRPF, Mumbai Police, Mumbai Riot Control Police, Mumbai Women Police, Mumbai Railway Police, Gadchiroli and Gondia C - 60, Home Guard, Mumbai Traffic Police, State Excise Department, Forest Department, Mumbai Fire Brigade, BrihanMumbai Municipal Security Force, Security Guards Board Brihan Mumbai and Thane participated in the Parade.
In the second group, Marching columns of the National Service Scheme, Sea Cadet Corps (Boys and Girls), Road Safety Patrol, Student Police Cadet and Bharat Scouts and Guides participated in the parade. The Brass Band and Pipe Band of the Police and SRPF received applause from the invitees.
Floats from the School Education and Sports Department on the theme 'Journey Towards Olympics' and that of the Culture Department on the theme 'Musical Instruments of Maharashtra' received spontaneous applause from the invitees.
Governor unfurls National Flag at Raj Bhavan
Earlier, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari unfurled the National Tricolour at Raj Bhavan Mumbai. A company of the SRPF Company and State Police sang the National Anthem.
The Governor exchanged Republic Day greetings with the staff, officers and children present on the occasion.
