MPs Visit SAIL Mining Site in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Jun 5 (IANS): Members of the Parliamentary Committee on Labour led by chairman Hemanand Biswal visited an iron ore mining site of the Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) in Chhattisgarh Saturday.

"All the 19 members of the committee inspected the Dalli-Rajhara iron ore mine in the state's Durg district and held detailed talks with various labour unions and workers," official sources informed.

The mine feeds raw material to public sector SAIL's flagship unit, the Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), some 30 km west of Raipur.

The committee members will also visit the state's famous religious and historical site, Sirpur, Sunday before leaving the state Monday.
