Bantwal: Republic Day celebrated at taluk's Adalita Saudha

Bantwal, Jan 26: The Republic Day celebrations were held at the taluk level in Adalita Saudha here on Thursday, January 26.

Tahsildar Dayanand unfurled the national flag and called on everybody to work for the united India in his message.

Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik who presided over the programme said that a new organization was formed for former soldiers in Bantwal. He said that he will be trying for a site for former servicemen as per their demands. "Your guidance is necessary to improve patriotism among the youth. The youth should mould their future on the basis of the ideals of Ambedkar," he said.

Mangaluru taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Dr Manjunath Revankar, in his lecture, said that the Constitution is the essence of the country. “The world recognises India because of it,” he said.

BUDA president Devadas Shetty, Bantwal DySP Pratap Thorat, taluk former soldier’s association president Venkappa were present. Four students of Taluk Government School who were toppers in SSLC examination were given laptops. Three people who provided excellent service at Grama One centre that conveys government schemes in the rural areas were felicitated.

Education coordinator Sujata Kumari gave details of the students. Deputy tahsildar Narendranath Mithur gave details of Grama One achievers. Block education officer Jnanesh M P welcomed. Taluk panchayat assistant director Dinesh proposed a vote of thanks. Manju Vitla compered the programme. A flag march and a cultural programme were held in the beginning.
