Udupi, Jan 27: The GM Vidyaniketan Public School celebrated the 74th Republic Day upholding nationalistic fervor. ”GM Puraskar” felicitation ceremony for the academic achievers was also held on the occasion.
Brahmachari K N, school principal, unfurled the National Flag. On the occasion, he said, “It is a happy moment for all of us because today parents are receiving prizes along with their children. All the activities in our institution are organized in a way that will help the children in future. Let us all join hands in building the nation.”
Srinivas, former army man, was the chief guest for the programme. He received the guard of honor. Addressing the students he said. “Have an aim in life. Continued efforts and discipline helps in achieving the goals of life. GM provides the best opportunities. Make the utmost use of these opportunities.”
Pranav Shetty, principal, GM Global School, on the occasion, said, “Patriotism should be in our hearts. We need to understand the culture of the nation and should take it forward to upcoming generations as well.”
Prakashchandra Shetty, president, school management committee, appreciated the performance of the students of class 10, and the work ethics of the school student leaders. He also thanked all the parents who had placed their trust in the GM institution and admitted their children here.
Students performed a well disciplined march fast on the occasion.
Memento and award certificates were presented to the students along with their parents who achieved achievements in curricular and extracurricular activities of the current academic year. Winners of the GM Spell bee were awarded with bicycles as a gift. Winners of science, social science and mathematics model preparation and book review were also given away the prizes.
Prashanth Kumar, councilor Nagaraj Somayaji, vice president parents teachers association Damodar Karkera, teachers, students and faculty of GM and GM global school were present on the occasion.
