Karunanidhi Blames Centre for Kanimozhi's Arrest

Chennai, June 6 (IANS) DMK chief and former Tamil Nadu chief minster M. Karunanidhi has blamed the central government for his daughter Kanimozhi's arrest in the 2G spectrum scam case.

Speaking at a public meeting late Sunday at his Tiruvarur constituency, Karunanidhi said: "She (Kanimozhi) is in jail owing to some central government's intelligence agency or due to carelessness of some officials or due to some other reason. As the matter is in court, I do not want to go deeper into it."

Kanimozhi, an MP, is currently in Tihar Jail in New Delhi. She is a stakeholder in the Karunanidhi family-owned Kalignar TV, which is accused by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) of receiving Rs.200 crore kickbacks in the 2G spectrum scandal.

Karunanidhi said it was his fault to persuade Kanimozhi to become a shareholder in the Kalaignar TV though she was reluctant.

Dear Ex-CM, you can only see that your daughter is in jail but what about getting 200 crores funds in to your family owned companies. Are you not ashamed of what you have done in your entire 60 yrs old tenure of politics. You are really shameless creature in this world. This 200 crores if spent in tamilnadu alone for single education, poverty projects genuinely, it would have done miracles. You must have seen your close knith Mr.Rajaa house. Do you think a common M.P can built such house. With whose money did he built ??? Realize before you die...
