Haveri (Byadagi), Feb 1: Bowing to the pressure mounted by farmers in his home district of Haveri for the State Government’s order for establishing Byadagi Industrial Corridor project, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday agreed to withdraw the order on the ground that fertile farm lands should not be acquired for industrial purposes.

The Chief Minister said the Byadagi Industrial Corridor project will be shifted to another location with barren lands and said he has already directed the Deputy Commissioner to scout for alternative sites.

Bommai later participated in the programme for inauguration of the Mukteshwara temple at Shidenur village of Byadagi taluk and said the people must forget the narrow differences of higher and lower caste and treat all alike.

``We should forget our ego and self and consider all as equals,’’ the Chief Minister said. He praised Nehru Olekar for his social service work and various welfare measures undertaken by him.
