Bhopal, Jun 7 (PTI) The activists of SIMI and Indian Mujahideen arrested by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) have disclosed that they used to commit back dacoities to fund their activities.
"So far, the arrested activists have disclosed their involvement in five bank dacoities including two at Dewas and one each at Itarsi, Piplia Mandi and Jaora," ATS IG, Vipin Maheshwari told reporters here today.
The ATS today produced four activists of Students Islamic Movement of India and Indian Mujahideen at a local court which sent them in police remand till June 17. The other four arrested in Jabalpur were also sent to police remand by a magistrate there till June 11.
"We have informed National Investigative Agency (NIA) about the arrest and a team of officials will soon arrive here to question them," he said.
