Vijayapura, Feb 4: In the history of Karnataka, Congress opposition leader in the State Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah has the credit of taking the maximum loan during his five years ruling as the chief minister, said Basavaraj Bommai, Chief Minister.

Reacting to the former Chief Minister's charges that only 10 per cent of the works announced in the previous year's budget have been implemented and the State's borrowing has touched Rs 3 lakh crore, Bommai said details of the budget implementation will be furnished in the coming budget session.

Speaking to media persons in Vijayapurua on Saturday, he said the reports regarding KPCC Manifesto Committee Chairman Dr G Parameshwar’s unhappiness for being sidelined, Bommai said it was the internal issue of the Congress Party.

But Dr Parameshwar is very intelligent and knows everything. If he has expressed unhappiness, they must understand it, he said.

Protect your MLAs

Commenting on Siddaramaiah's statement that there has been pro-Congress wave across the state, he advised the Congress leader to protect the MLAs of the region where he is touring.

“This is his only piece if advise for Siddaramaiah who is in the most responsible position in the Congress party,’’ he said.

Karkala is Sunil Kumar’s Constituency

Asked about Sri Ram Sena Chief Pramod Mutalik's demand to BJP not to field candidate in Karkala, Bommai said Energy Minister V Sunil Kumar has been representing this constituency for the last three times and this is his constituency.

“Everyone has right to appeal but as a national party, BJP will field it's candidates in all the 224 Assembly constituencies,’’ he said asserting that the party will take its own decisions.

Then why were you desperately drooling to take over the state forcefully by unlawful means by buying MLAs in crores if the state had plunged into maximum debt. How is your business of 40% now in debt ridden state???????…

This week FM presented a budget which 42% of budgeted amount Rs 18.7 lac crores are going to be borrowed, of which 12.2 lac ctore will be mkt loans. Debt must definitely be avoided. If borrowed it must be used wisely. Now bommaiji has to tell us if siddaramaiahji has used it in corrupt or unwise manner and if punitive/remedial action is taken. Just blabbering about actions of previos govts in the election year is not going to help citizens.
