Mumbai, Jun 7: The Konkani Catholic Association (KCA) Nallasopara ® organized a programme to distribute study books, stationery, and uniforms to the poor students in suburban Nallasopara at St Francis De Sales School hall, Nallasopara (East), on Sunday June 5.
Nallasopara senior police officer Sriram Kogaonkar was the chief guest on the occasion.
St Francis De Sales parish priest Fr Agnello Lawrence, St Vincent De Paul Society director Fr R Khaitano, Fr Tony Lopes Dahanu, IBN Channel reporter Arvind Redkar and young entrepreneur Patrick Frates were the chief guests on the occasion.
KCA Nallasopara president Harry B Coutinho presided over the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Kogaonkar said that teachers and parents of students play a vital role in shaping the future of students and helping them excel in their studies.
Fr Agnelo Lawrence said that the free distribution of study books, stationery, and uniforms is a boon to poor students in the locality.
Coutinho, in his presidential address, said that studies will inculcate positive thinking among the students. He added that if the parents of students and teachers shape an ideal personality in the students, they will become responsible citizens of our country.
KCA Nallasopara secretary Claude D’Silva, vice-president Gracy Pinto, treasurer Alwyn F D’Souza Mudarangady, executive committee members Laveena Dias, Richard Pinto, Diana Moraes, and Hilda D’Souza were present on the dais.
Alwyn D’Souza compered the programme while Gracy Pinto proposed the vote of thanks.
Study books, stationery, and uniforms were distributed to 600 poor students from all strata of the society on the occasion.
