Coimbatore, Jun 8 (IANS): On a windy day, when scoring was rather tough, Sidharth Seth took a one shot lead despite a run of four bogeys in the last five holes at the Tamil Nadu Open Amateurs at the Coimbatore Golf Course here Tuesday.
Sidharth shot a round of 77, which included three birdies, and he was one shot ahead of C. Suresh.
Five players, including Anirudh, L Selvadurai, Simanpreet Singh, BR Raja and Praful Chand shot 79 each to be tied third.
With a wind changing from time to time, the players found scoring tough on a course which has narrow fairways and high rough, though the greens played true. The event at the Par-72 6,973 yard Coimbatore Golf Club is also the South Zone Qualifying Round.
The top 60 scores and ties will make it to the final two rounds and the top 50 scores will qualify for the Categorised events, the Interstate Open at Coimbatore and Southern India Amateur at KGA Bengaluru.
