65-year-old man marries 23-year-old woman in Ayodhya

Ayodhya, Feb 6 (IANS): A 65-year-old man has married a 23-year-old woman, 42 years younger to him in Maa Kamakhya Dham temple in Mawai block, here.

The wedding took place on Sunday. The groom, Nakkhad Yadav, is father of six women, all of whom are married. He said that after the death of his wife, he faced loneliness.

"All my daughters are living a happy life with their husbands and children in their in-laws' house. People from both sides were present on the occasion of marriage and the consent of the woman and her family members was also taken before the marriage was solemnised," he told reporters.

The bride Nandini said that she was happy with her groom and felt that the age difference would not matter.

It is ridiculous to compare this marriage to child marriage. A child lacks the maturity and understanding to give consent. Both people in this marriage are adults who know what is involved in the marriage.

Is this any better than alleged child marriages targeting only minorities in Assam where BJP govt is arresting the husbands who are bread winners of the family and have children????.?. Hum Kare Tho Chamathkar Thum Kare Tho Balathkar.

What nonsense.. lol... Does a 23 yr old looks like a child for you? Unlike you mullas marry a 6y old, this is not that bad... Both are major, neither have faked his religion, no kidnap, no fridge cooker, no cut into pieces. Is it crime/? no.. Is it awkward? yes.... Just relax..
