First of all, let me Congratulate Irene Bai for the literary award conferred on you. I didn’t had opportunity of reading all your Konkani story books, except Balidan. I checked all the book stores in Mangalore, but none of them having these books. I will appreciate if anyone is having these books, with the permission of Irene bai, digitised and put it online. So that the new generation can take benefit of it. Hence, her name will remain generation to generation. This is just my suggestion. All the best Irene Bai.

Congratulations Irene for the literary award conferred on you. You are such a gem of a writer who has made readers like me to be your die hard fan. You have been conferred with so many awards but it is unfortunate that Daiji Pursakar has alluded you for long for the simple reason the Daiji members who vote for award do not know you or read your books. Some of them may not have born when you wrote the master piece "mujem antarkskan vischerchena". I am writing this from my personal experience . Twice Daiji conferred the awards without any voting. When I spoke on the day of the meeting to award the writer about Irene with such vociferous way one of the key members took Irene's profile but so far nothing has happened. Even I had said in the meeting if something happens to Irene we know only to hold a condolence meeting and say " Konkani lost a great writer and we are orphaned because of that". What we do when some one is alive ? When I wrote an article about Irene Hoysala of Konkani the same title was conferred to Irene in Bangalore.I have done whatever I could such as to honour her in Abu Dhabi, arranging interview in Raknno with the help of Vally Vogga. I kindly request Daiji to wake up and to do the honour to a well deserving writer. I wish you all the best Irene in your old age. I know I may have ruffled the rough feathers and I do not feel bad about it. If A T Lobo or some old great writers were alive today they would have lost the chance because of majority members may not have read their books.
