Mangaluru: St Agnes CBSE School organizes Merit Day for winners in multiple competitions

Mangaluru, Feb 10: St Agnes CBSE School always strives to give something beyond to motivate and encourage students in curricular and co-curricular activities. This important feature of the school has given rise to number of budding stars who have excelled in various activities and competitions in school and other inter- school competitions.

In order to encourage the students, giving awards and motivating them is one of the best qualities of the school. From January 31 till February 2, the school organised the Merit Day for the students from grade I to X who had won in various competitions held at the school level every month. To name a few, posters making on pollution control, poem on parents, poster on world water week, elocution competition, fancy dress, carol singing and live crib, tricolour wall hangings and pen stands etc. The winners were awarded with medals and certificates. 

To grace the occasion, the school had four prominent chief guests who were truly grateful for inviting them and expressed their gratitude for being a part of this wonderful programme. Fr Rayan Pinto OCD, Payal Raveena Lobo, lecturer in psychology at St Agnes Teacher Training Institute for special education, Anita M G Gomes, retired teacher of St Agnes Primary School and Cecilia Gonsalves, associate professor and head, department of Economics at School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya.

All the guests were happy to present the awards to the students and in their words of wisdom congratulated the winners and also motivated the students to take part in various events. They encouraged students not to win only for receiving medals but hard work and dedication is equally important. They also shared their memories of winning competitions with less opportunities and urged students to always think of participating in events.

All the teachers and students gave their whole hearted support to make this event a success and thanked the principal for her constant motivation and being a pillar of strength. The added joy was the presence of parents who witnessed the award ceremony.

The management congratulated the principal and staff for their immense effort is encouraging students and express gratitude to parents for constant motivation.
