Bengaluru, Feb 11: With a view to prepare the youth ready for jobs, 10 more language labs will be opened in the Malleswaram assembly constituency, said Higher Education and Skills Development Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan on Saturday.
Speaking after inaugurating the job fair organised by the Skills Development Departyment in Malleswaram in Bengaluru, he said steps are being taken to train the youth and equip them with necessary skills to get jobs.
Under the Kaushalya Vikas scheme of the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister, youth in the age group of 18 to 35 years are being prepared by equipping them with necessary skills for landing jobs.
As many as 250 companies have already registered in the Skills portal and steps are being taken to appoint 25,000 youth under the Skills Connect programme, he said.
The minister said Bengaluru has emerged as the capital of knowledge, financial, startup and agritech business, which will ensure jobs to lakhs of youth, he said and claimed that the extent of unemployment was comparatively less in Karnataka than in other states. Dr Narayan said the government is making arrangements to provide special training to candidates not chosen in campus selections as the government wants to ensure jobs for all.
