Udupi: 'Samarpan diwas' held at Shivapadi Sri Umamaheshwari temple in Manipal

Udupi, Feb 13: “Presently India is in Vishwaguru position due to its advocacy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam principle. It should be our prayer that everyone is happy,” said Keradi Chandrasekhara Shetty, chairman of the management committee of Kollur Sri Mookambika temple.

He was speaking at the ‘Samarpan divas’ ahead of Atirudra Mahayaga held at Shivapadi Sri Umamaheshwari temple here in Manipal on February 12.

“Almighty blesses every act done towards the betterment of the society. This Atirudra Mahayaga is intended for the betterment of society," he added.

Speaking about the programme, Mahesh Thaur, president, temple development committee, said, “From February 22 to March 5, 12 days of Atirudra Mahayaga will be performed. More than 180 religious leaders will be participating in the Atirudra Mahayaga. Every day nearly two lac people will be participating.”

‘Balashiva’ competition was also organized on the occasion. Tiny tots dressed as Balashiva were to be seen all over the venue.

The programme invitation was also released on this occasion. Raghupathi Bhat, president of the committee, presided over the programme.

Shashidhar Shetty, president of Tulukoota Baroda Atmarama Nayak of Manipal Stores, Dr Raviraja Acharya, chairman, Kadiyali Shri Mahishamardini Temple Management Committee, businessmen Muniyalu Udaya Kumar Shetty, Belve Ganesh Kini, U Satish Shet, Ravi Kumar Subhakar Samant, temple administration, Moktesara S Dinesh Prabhu, permanent trustee, Dinesh Sridhara Samant, M Suresh Shanubhag, secretary, Satish Patil, treasurer of Atirudra Mahayagya Committee were present.

Prakash Kukke Halli, welcomed the gathering Ratnakara Indrali and Sucheta Naik compered.
