Bantwal, Feb 14: Polling for Pudu gram panchayat that falls under the limits of Mangaluru legislative constituency will be held on February 25. In total 70 nominations are submitted till February 13.
Among those who have submitted their nominations, 25 are supported by Congress, 15 from SDPI and 30 are from BJP. There are 10 wards and 34 members in the gram panchayat.
February 14 is the last day for filing the nominations. Former zilla panchayat member Ummer Faruk said that Congress has already fielded 25 candidates and rest nine will file nominations on February 14.
Former zilla panchayat member Ravindra Kambali said that the BJP has already submitted nominations in 30 positions and rest four will be filed on February 14.
Town municipality member Monish Ali said that SDPI has already filed nominations for 15 member seats and 13 more candidates will file nominations on February 14.
In addition four candidates have filed nominations for the bye elections of two members of Netlamudnoor and Anantadi gram panchayat that fell vacant due to various reasons.
