No Production at Maruti's Manesar Plant Due to Strike

New Delhi, Jun 11 (PTI) The production at the country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India's Manesar facility continues to be completely stopped as the workers' strike at the plant entered its eighth day today.

"The strike is continuing. The situation is same as yesterday," a senior company official told PTI.

Around 2,000 workers at the plant have been on strike since Saturday, resulting in a production loss of about 6,600 units till yesterday. The value of the loss is estimated to be around Rs 330 crore.

Yesterday, the Haryana government imposed a ban on the strike and referred the matter to a labour court. The move comes amid threats of the week-long stir spreading to the Gurgaon-Manesar industrial belt.
