Mangaluru, Feb 17: A case should be filed against state higher education minister Ashwath Narayan under IPC section 353, 504, 506,” said KPCC vice president Ivan D’Souza.
Addressing the media here on Friday, February 17, he said, “Ashwath Narayan on Wednesday said that former chief minister Siddaramaiah should be beaten to death in the way Tipu Sultan was killed. This act of obstructing and preventing a public servant from performing his duties is illegal and criminal in nature, as per section 353 of the Indian penal Code.
“The offense is also punishable under sections 504, 506 of the Indian Penal Code for using foul language in a public meeting, with intent to incite, to cause a breach of public peace, wilfully inciting and causing breach of public peace and also threatening to kill.
“Jagadish Shettar and B S Yediyurappa had also spoken in favour of Tipu Sultan. Will you do the same with the BJP leaders? We demand suo moto cases to be registered against Ashwath Narayan. We as Congress workers have filed a case against the minister. We request the commissioner to enquire into the case and take strict action,” he said.
