Mangaluru Feb 18: “The state government has failed to fulfil promises after it failed to announce Narayana Guru Development Corporation during the budget,” said Kudroli Gokarnanatha temple treasurer Padmaraj.

Addressing media here on Friday February 17, Padmaraj said, “The Billawa Ediga community had put forth a clear demand to constitute Narayana Guru Development Corporation. We had been assured that our demands will be fulfilled. Believing the government, we had to postpone Billawa convention. On January 5, senior leaders of Billawa Ediga community met chief minister Basavaraj Bommai regarding the same demand. Along with minister Sunil Kumar we submitted a memorandum to the chief minister and he assured that it will be announced in the budget.

“Our demand was neglected again. Since the last four years, we have been continuously demanding to constitute Narayana Guru Development Corporation. Our hope was shattered after the government failed to announce the same during the budget. We will not step back and will continue our fight till our demands fulfilled,” he said.

President of Narayana Guru Vichara Vedike, Satyajith Surathkal said, “If they have the willpower, the government has time till the session gets over on February 26. They can take the necessary steps to announce the formation of Narayana Guru Development Corporation.”
