Sugar Declines on Sluggish Demand


Mumbai, Jun 13 (PTI) Sugar prices declined at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to reduced offtake from retailers amid adequate stock positions.

Small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 14 per quintal to Rs 2,600/2,652 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 2,600/2,666.

Medium sugar (M-30) also eased by Rs 3/5 per quintal to Rs 2,668/2,796 as against Rs 2,671/2,801 last weekend.

The following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal), with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,600/2,652 (Rs 2,600/2,666).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,668/2,796 (Rs 2,671/2,801).
