Mangaluru: St Agnes CBSE School observes World Thinking Day

Mangaluru, Feb 24: The World Thinking Day was commemorated on February 22 at St Agnes CBSE School in spectacular way. This year the theme being ‘Our world our peaceful nature’. The guides along with their captains presented a meaningful programme to mark the significance of the day.

The chief guest was Felcy Zeena Fernandes a dynamic and compassionate educator having 38 years of experience in the field of education. Currently she is lending her honorary service in Mangaluru district headquarters as asst dist commissioner. She is the recipient of ‘Navin Asher Kazi Excellence in teaching’ award in 2018. ‘Meritorious award’ from Indian School Oman. The other dignitaries were the administrator Sr Edna Furtado AC, principal Sr Maria Gracilda AC were cordially escorted by the guides.

The programme began with a meaningful prayer service followed by a grandeur welcome dance. The significance of the day was depicted through powerpoint presentation. A spectacular action song was presented by the cubs. The guides of the senior troop presented a qawali creatively.

On this important occasion the students and teachers were honoured for their achievements on the basis of category. The winners of highest prizes in various competitions, the champions for securing first place in all school events, the winners of national spell bee competition, the PE trainers’ winners in Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Sports meet and honouring of teacher who secured hundred percent attendance.

The chief guest expressed her words of appreciation on the presenting a meticulous programme and congratulating each guide student and captain for their best efforts. She expressed her gratitude for inviting her to grace the occasion. She shared her words of wisdom on the significance of World Thinking day. Based on the theme she urged every student to stand and fight for the important cause of girl child. She concluded her speech with motivating the students with an action song.

The school principal too congratulated the guides and their captains for presenting a meaningful programme.

The programme was compered by Riya. The gathering was given a cheerful welcome by Jewel and Megan proposed the vote of thanks expressing gratitude to all for making the event a success.

The management congratulated the guides and the captains for carrying on the mission of service very passionately and wished good luck for their future assignments.
