Mangaluru: St Agnes College students visit Mother Teresa Home at Falnir

Media Release

Mangaluru, Feb 26: As part of the Agnes Towards Community (ATC) initiative, the students of III BA of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru visited The Missionaries of Charity Mother Teresa Home at Falnir, on February 25.

The students aimed, specifically, to interact, entertain and amuse the retired and infirm residents of the old age home with help from its head sisters.

Asha Albuquerque, assistant professor of English accompanied the students. The students conducted activities, entertained them through group song, solo singing and dance performance.

Such forms of entertainment appealed to them increasingly, driving away any boredom they might have had, rousing their interest. Then the students interacted and made conversation with every single inhabitant, socializing with them and regaling them.

This visit aimed at sensitizing the students to the increasing number of old age homes in the country and to make them aware of the mental trauma that the aged go through because of abandonment. The students bid their goodbyes to them around lunch time.
