Udupi: Sringeri Swamiji arrives at Shivapadi temple as part of Atirudra Mahayaga

Udupi, Mar 5: On Saturday, a grand Shobhayatra was held for Sri Vidhushekhara Bharathi Swamiji of Shringeri Sharada Peeta. The procession went from Syndicate Circle to Shivapadi Sri Umamaheshwara Temple, in celebration of the Atirudra Mahayaga being held at the temple.

The procession included a vehicle announcement, Veda Ghosha, attractive slogans, a bandset, colourful umbrellas, a Kalasha, a flag, Chende dance, Bhajana, Holi dance, Kombu, Nadaswara, and Flower Archane, which thrilled the onlookers. Women from the Dharmasthala self-help group and members of the public participated in the procession, wearing saffron headgear.

More than 700 members of the Marati community caught the eye of the crowd with their dress code for the Holi dance. MLA Raghupati Bhat, President of the Temple Development Trust Mahesh Thakur, and others were also present.
