Adarsh Scam : Army Major General S S Jog 'intimidated' ?

Mumbai, Jun 16 : Senior army officer Major General S S Jog today told the judicial commission probing Adarsh scam here that he had been "intimidated" by the then GOC, Major General A R Kumar, into signing a letter addressed to Mumbai Collector, which was considered as an NOC from Ministry of Defence for the construction of Adarsh Society.

Jog had yesterday deposed that he had been forced too sign this letter, in reply to Collector's query about whether Adarsh fell in Defence area.

Deposing before the two-member commission today, Jog said Kumar also yelled at him on the telephone over the issue.

Jog also said that the initial letter from Mumbai collector, dated March 20, 2000, went directly to the GOC, bypassing the usual channels."I thought Kumar was acting dishonestly," said Jog.

Kumar figures as an accused in the FIR filed by CBI in Adarsh scam case
