Mangaluru: Women's Day celebration held at Lourdes Central School

Mangaluru, Mar 9: The March 8, is a day, where women are recognized and appreciated all over the world for their love, care and concern shown to humankind. To mark this occasion Lourdes Central School celebrated Women’s Day to honour all the wonderful lady teachers. The programme commenced with a prayer service.

Ryan Lobo from Class 7B gave a meaningful thought to spread positive vibes through our personality. Abhiram Kashyap of Class 8 C ignited minds about the day’s significance. He also said that women are intelligent, hardworking, courageous, and full of love endowed with the qualities of beauty, love and tolerance. The theme of the year is ‘Digit All’. We hope that women find their inner strength and break the barriers of gender inequality and be treated equally. To brighten the day and to set tone for the celebration, students of Class VI - VIII gave a melodious rendition.

Roshan Cordeiro, the staff of LCS expressed words of appreciation on the occasion of Women’s Day celebration, saying women are incredible in their own way, their presence is inexpressible and so are their deeds. "They play a special role in the society and family and without them our lives are incomplete," he said. 

Fr Robert D'Souza, the principal wished all the lady staff and thankedthem for their selfless service. He said that women are the real architects of society and blessed each one of them with courage, hope and strength.

Birthday greetings were conveyed to the students who celebrated their birthday. The days assembly came to an end with the school anthem. Anvith Pinto of Class 7D compered the assembly.

A fellowship gathering was held in school auditorium to celebrate ‘Women’s Day’.
