Mangaluru: St Agnes College organizes two-day workshop on hypnotherapy

Mangaluru, Mar 10: The department of Psychology, Centre for Postgraduate Studies and Research, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organized a two-day workshop on hypnotherapy on March 9 and 10. The workshop was conducted by Dr Jini Gopinath, a trained Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Hypnotherapist who has done extensive work in the field of mental health, wellness and education since the past 20 years. Currently he is working as the Chief Psychology Officer at yourdost.com. He is also visiting faculty at several prestigious institutions across the country. Yourdost.com is an online counselling and emotional support platform designed to foster mental wellness.

Hypnotherapy is an adjunctive technique that utilizes hypnosis to aid in the treatment of specific symptoms or health conditions. Hypnotherapy works by inducing a hypnotic state marked by waking awareness that allows people to experience detached external attention and to focus on inner experiences.

The workshop began with a prayer. The workshop was hosted by Anamika Sunil, II year MSc psychology student. This skill training workshop was attended by the UG and PG Psychology students of the college. The goal of the workshop was to introduce hypnotherapy steps, procedures and techniquesand strengthen their knowledge in regards to psychological interventions through demonstration and videos.
