Udupi, Mar 11: Police have registered a case against national general secretary of BJP’s OBC Morcha Yashpal A Suvarna along with four others under IPC section 306 (abetment to suicide) and section 3(2)(v) in The Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) in connection to the death of Subbanna (50), manager of Mahalakshmi Co-operative Bank (Malpe branch) in Udupi.
It may be recalled that bank manager Subbanna had died by suicide at Rajmahal lodge in Malpe on March 8. In his death note, Subbanna had named Yashpal Suvarna and four others who made him take the extreme step.

Subbanna belonged to Scheduled Caste and he was working as for Mahalakshmi Co-operative bank.
Reportedly, he ended his life on March 8 between 8.00 pm to 8.30 pm. Police have registered a case as per the complaint filed by Subbanna's brother Suresh.
In the death note, Subbanna alleged pressure from the bank's administrative committee, non-cooperation by the higher officials of the bank and the cheating from one Riyaz as the reason to end his life.
Police have booked Yashpal A Suvarna, who is the president of Mahalakshmi Co-operative Society, Jagadeesh Mogaveer, managing director of Mahalakshmi Co-operative Society, Sheen J K Gangolli, former managing director of Mahalakshmi Co-operative Society, Sarika, manager of Mahalakshmi Co-operative society and Riyaz.
It is alleged, Yashpal and other officials had pressurized Subbanna to recover a loan from a person named Riyaz, who is one of the accused in the case.
