Disproportional Assets Case: Court Dismisses Chautala's Plea

New Delhi, Jun 19 (PTI) A Delhi court has dismissed former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala's plea to direct CBI to submit before it some additional documents relating to a disproportionate assets case against him.

Special CBI judge P S Teji dismissed 75-year-old Chautala's plea after accepting the CBI contention that the same has been made to delay the trial of the case.

The judge noted that already 18 hearings have taken place and three more are prayed for by Chautala to press for the plea while the court is still hearing the arguments on issue of framing of charges against him to begin the trial.

The court also pointed out that the CBI has not drawn any adverse inference against Chautala from those documents and so they are not relevant to the case.

"Now on the fag end of arguments on charges, the plea has been filed.
