New Delhi, Jun 19: DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi and his family are praying that the Supreme Court would grant bail to his daughter Kanimozhi, who is in jail in connection with the 2G scam.
With the Supreme Court scheduled to hear her bail plea on Monday June 20, Kanimozhi's mother Rajathiammal left for New Delhi by evening flight from Chennai.
Earlier the High Court had rejected the bail plea of the Kalaignar TV director, DMK MP from Tamil Nadu, and daughter of one of Tamil Nadu's most powerful politician.
Challenging the High Court verdict, Kanimozhi's advocate had moved the Supreme Court on June 10.
It may be recalled that the CBI had earlier filed a petition opposing Kanhimozhi's bail, fearing that she may influence the witnesses if she is freed.
Along with Kanimozhi's, managing director of Kalaignar TV Sharad Kumar's bail plea is also scheduled for hearing on Monday.
