Udupi Mar 15: “Dhwajasthmab pratishte and Dhoolimandala seve of Kadiyali Sri Mahishamardhini temple will be held from March 22- 24” said Dr Katte Raviraj Acharya, president working committee.
Addressing the press meet he said “There will be vastu homa on March 22 evening followed by prayaschita homas. Final arrangements for the placement of the flagpole are underway. On March 24, morning the pratishtha of the flag pole and fellowship meal in the afternoon will be held. All the arrangements regarding this are almost finished and will be ready in 2 to 3 days. On 24th evening, The dhoolimandala pooje will be held. After that the Ranga pooja, rathotsava will be held”.
Speaking on the occasion Raghavendra Kini, secretary renovation committee said “More than 35,000 people are expected for the afternoon meal during these days. On March 22, a horekanike procession will be held from Sri Krishna Mutt to the temple. The temple was renovated at a cost of Rs 9 crore and the Brahmakalashotsava was held in a grand manner. The construction of ‘Sharvani Kalyana Mantapa’ is a large step towards complete renovation of the temple which is given free of cost for public functions. Programs are being conducted daily in this hall. In addition to this there are kunita bhajana classes every Tuesday and Friday under the supervision of the working committee. Every Tuesday free yakshagana classes are also being held”.
Nagesh Hegde, chairman of renovation committee, Ratnakara Upadhyay , chief priest of the temple, Sathish Kulal, treasurer renovation committee Bhaskar Sherigar, vice president renovation committee and chairman of horekanike procession committee Manjunath Hebbar, member management committee Bharathi Chandrashekhar, vice president renovation committee were present during the press meet.
The new wooden flag pole has cost nearly 25 lakhs.
