Moderate rains reported in some parts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi, Mar 16: Some parts of the coastal districts received slight rain on Wednesday MRCH 16. However, simmering heat was felt throughout the day.

Beltangady, Mundaje and Dharmasthala area received good rains around 5 am on Wednesday. Navoor, Sarapady, Uli and Mani areas of Bantwal taluk received slight drizzle. Kabaka of Puttur, Subaramanya, Kalmakaru, Harihara Pallathadka and Ainekidu also received moderate rains. According to the weather forecast, moderate rains will continue for next two days in the twin districts.

Beltangady taluk received good rain accompanied by thunder and lightning from 2 am till 5 am on Wednesday. Trenches which were dry due to the heat had water flowing in them due to the rain. In addition, rains lashed Mundaje, Thotattadi, Nada, Laila, Ujire, Kalmanja and Dharmasthala from 5 am to 9 am also.

In Udupi, the city areas received drizzle for about five minutes. Though the weather was cloudy in the morning, as the day progressed sun war harsh and extreme weather continued.

Mangaluru recorded maximum of 33 deg C and minimum of 24.6 deg C.
