21-month-old child made gold carrier, father caught at Mangaluru International Airport

Mangaluru, Mar 18: A male passenger kept gold inside the diaper of his 21-month-old daughter to hide the same from customs officials at the international airport here but was apprehended.

Customs officials of the international airport in the city have confiscated 1606 gram of gold worth Rs 90.67 lac in the first 15 days of March.

The gold was confiscated in three separate incidents including a 21-month-old child. A male passenger converted the gold to paste form and tied it across his waist like a belt. Another person hid the paste form gold in his rectum, The third male passenger kept the gold form paste in pouch form inside the diaper of his baby daughter.

Customs officials have arrested all the accused and further investigation is on.

    Instead of hiding in childs diaper or elsewhere and later when found ,have to pay a good amount of punishment.Whether you get it with all punishment is another thing.Why cant they bring inside officially claiming in customs pay tax and go home.So or so they have to pay tax.Why take so much trouble.WE get gold here too.

    Normally it will be given to passengers who bought it after they pay the taxes payable to Govt. of India.. once tax paid the gold becomes legal. .. But people are crazy to use babies to carry this kind of crime.

    It's absolutely shame , its shows this crooks can go any level, Sometimes I get irritated when officers scrutinize ,because of some crooks we have to suffer. Most of them who are involved from our neighboring state especially places with in vicinity of mangalore they can go any level for money, imagine how cruel there mind's they didn't spare new born, wives and keeping gold inside rectum for just thousands of rupees, we are seeing luxurious cars in mangalore High life style 30% of those luxurious cars came from money with criminal activities. Guys hardwork has no substitute, honesty, integrity, principle in life discipline all that matters to make you a global citizen, money earned by illegal activities will not last forever it will haunt you every day and you are scared every movment of your life. Our Boss every time says to us do good things and good things will follow, you should do the process right Success will come automatically. What's point of you praying, giving charity and showing off your wealth by betraying your own country, I have huge respect for the people who are into blue collar jobs, who make earning every day and feeding thre family. Let's all make our country proud India is fastest growing economy in the world and we should be proud what we have achieved so far. We have to put end to this criminality and no bail should be given to this crooks who put our country down.

    Crime is a crime. Don’t differentiate it by religion, political party etc. This crime is much sadder than minister using his son to collect commission because the father has used the innocent child in illegal activity.Minister’s son is quite big to understand what he is doing is right or wrong unlike this child. But as I said a crime is a crime and this father should be punished double for involving his child in this crime.
