New Delhi, Jun 21: Civil society led by Anna Hazare submitted its final draft to the government, after the last meeting of the Lokpal Bill drafting committee on Tuesday June 21.
It had been decided at Monday's meeting that the two sides would exchange their drafts and both would be merged as a single document with a list of pending issues. These issues will be decided upon by the Cabinet after an all-party meet.
The differences between the two sides on various issues like inclusion of the PM under Lokpal ambit, conduct of the MPs in Parliament etc remain.
Civil society member Arvind Kejriwal had said shortly before the meeting that the results of the Lokpal Bill Joint Drafting Committee meetings are 'pre-decided'.
He had said that the biggest achievement of the meetings is that every person in the country is discussing the Lokpal Bill.
The ninth and final meeting was convened at the office of finance minister Pranab Mukherjee, chairman of the drafting committee. Only P Chidambaram, who is in Jammu and Kashmir, missed the meeting.
