Eviction notice sent to Rahul Gandhi to vacate govt bungalow

New Delhi, Mar 27 (IANS): After being disqualified as a Member of Parliament Rahul Gandhi has been asked to vacate his government bungalow in Tughlak lane in Delhi's Lutyen's zone, sources said.

However, sources in the Congress said that they have not received the notice yet but officials said that as per rules Rahul Gandhi has to vacate the house within 30 days.

Rahul Gandhi was disqualified as a MP 24 hours after being convicted by a Surat court on Friday.

The Surat district court in Gujarat on Thursday convicted Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in a criminal defamation case over his alleged 'Modi surname' remark in 2019.

Gandhi was convicted under Indian Penal Code sections 499 and 500. The maximum punishment under this section is two years.

BJP MLA and former Gujarat Minister Purnesh Modi had filed the case against Rahul Gandhi for his alleged "how come all the thieves have Modi as the common surname..." remark.

He won't stick with government given bungalow as he belongs to the great family that fought British to get freedom, the family that shed blood and sacrificed their lives for this country and those who donated their bungalow to the nation which nobody can erase from the history. By the way he might not appeal against the harsh jail sentence and enter the jail to uproot BJP plan of eliminating the biggest threat politically by blaming him and the lowest court as an alibi. As such he doesn't need any crutches offered by Tyrannical government.

Lessons to be learnt from this episode is that when you are in power do only good things. Rahul when UPA was in power used government agencies to tarnish image of BJP leaders especially Gujarat leaders like Amit Shah, Modi. Now he is eating fruits of his own deed.

Clarify did they tarnish the image or they were accused and got reprieve by playing hook and crook methods to fix the judiciary and erase direct evidence linking them with the genocide? Why Sanjiv Bhatt in jail for exposing what took place in the meeting with false cases? Those police officers who fired on rioters were transferred to desolate places while those who looked the other way got promoted? Power and money can shield the culprits but truth can never be bought either way. First watch BBC Documentary and then give clean chit to anybody.
