Sai Trust Controversy Affects Business in Puttaparthi - Traders' Strike

Hyderabad, Jun 25: Puttarparthi in Anantapur district here on Saturday June 25 had a deserted look with traders shutting down in a protest against the alleged irregularities committed members of Sathya Sai Trust. The protestors that included mainly business community enraged by the instance of seizure of huge amount of money in the car  about a week ago took out a rally demanding state government to take over the trust in the backdrop of irregularities. The controversies have been affecting their business, they lamented.

The protestors also demanded the trust members to explain the allegations of misappropriating funds and other assets. It is learnt that devotees including the business community in Puttaparthi are in favour of administrative body on the lines of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) to run teh trust activities in a bid to maintain transparency.

It can be recalled here that the police issued notices to two of the trust members, V Srinivasan and R J Ratnakar, who is also Sai Baba's nephew, after they arrested three on July 19 with a huge some of money. The arrested had revealed that the cash was being transported as instructed by trust members from Puttaparthi to Bangalore. While Ratnakar will report to police later in the day, V Srinivasan will be questioned on Monday June 27.
