Mangaluru, March 29: In a swift action, Ullal police have arrested three accused who had allegedly waylaid a couple on a bike and robbed them of their iPhone and also their bike at Uchila on NH 66.
The couple was on their bike near Jeo petrol pump, Uchila NH 66 at about 5 am on Monday when three persons who came on scooters, waylaid the couple and fled after robbing the iPhone from the girl's hands along with the bike. Bike rider Abdulla lodged a police complaint in this connection at Ullal police station.
Police arrested Bastipadpu resident Zakir Hussain alias Shakir – Jahir (27), Someshwara village's Pilar resident Mohammed Ubaidulla alias Ubbi (33) and Ullal Melangadi resident Ibrahim Khaleel alias Khaleed (22).
The police seized two scooters used for the robbery, an iPhone handset and a Yamaha motorbike and produced the accused before the court.
Ullal police station inspector Sandeep G S, assistant inspector Krishna K H, police constables Pravin Shetty, Ashok Vasudeva and staff cracked the case under the guidance of police commissioner Kuldeep Jain.
