Mangaluru: SJEC hosts VTU inter collegiate, men, women netball tournament

Mangaluru, Mar 31: VTU inter collegiate, 2022-23, rest of Bengaluru Division men netball & state level men & women netball tournament was successfully concluded on March 30 at St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC) ground under the banner of department of physical education, SJEC.

Dr Purushothama Chippar, vice principal of SJEC graced the occasion as the chief guest and Dr Ramananda H S, dean student welfare of SJEC was the guest of honour. Poornesh M, sports advisor and Vaneesha Rodrigues, PED were present during the valedictory programme. The chief guest congratulated all the teams for their active participation and sportsman spirit and handed over the prizes for the overall champions, runners up of the tournament and individual best shooter and best defender in all categories.

 

SDMIT Ujire were the overall champions of VTU Rest of Bengaluru division netball tournament Men, MCE Hassan bagged the runners up trophy, third Place won by SJEC Mangaluru and fourth place won by KLS Hubballi. Suhas from SDMIT Ujire was awarded as the best shooter and Sunil VJ from MCE Hassan was awarded as the best defender.

SJEC Mangaluru were the overall champions of state-level netball tournament women, EWIT Bengaluru bagged the runners up trophy, Third place won by GAT Bengaluru and fourth place won by NIEIT Mysuru. Neha from SJEC Mangaluru was awarded as the best shooter and Swetha from EWIT Bengaluru was awarded as the best defender.

SJEC Mangaluru were the overall champions of state-level netball tournament men, MCE Hassan bagged the runners-up trophy, third place won by SDMIT Ujire and fourth place won by RVCE Bengaluru. Alden Alvares from SJEC Mangaluru was awarded as the best shooter and Allen Lobo RV CE Bengaluru was awarded as the best defender.
