Mangaluru, Mar 31: Backward community welfare department answered a query that was submitted under RTI that the government did not take any action for the implementation of Narayana Guru Corporation, though the order was sent a month ago.

Manjunath sought details, under RTI act, on the copy of Narayana Guru Development Corporation registered certificate, article on association, memorandum of association, details of share capital and directors. He also sought details on the head office of the corporation as well as the grants that are intended to be provided to the corporation.

Responding to the query, public information officer of backward community welfare department, said, “Establishment order is sent from backward communities’ welfare department for forming Narayana Guru Development Corporation. On the rest of the points, on which you have sought explanation, action is yet to be initiated.”

The BCM welfare department had taken out an order in February to establish the Narayana Guru Development Corporation. In the order it was mentioned that the corporation is established for the comprehensive development of 26 castes including Ediga-Billava under class 2A.
