Lucknow, Jun 27: The political enmity between the ruling BSP and opposition Congress in Uttar Pradesh (UP) state is escalating with each passing day. These parties continue to trade blames and charges now and then.

The 'politics' has hot up today again, with the Congress blaming Mayawati government of not allowing them to take out a rally in protest against the mysterious death of former CMO Dr Sachan in a jail recently.

Congress leader, Rita Bahuguna, while slamming BSP government and the local administration for denying permission for the rally, said, "The administration has denied permission unlawfully, which is against democratic norms. This shows the audacity and high-handedness of Mayawati government. She wants to dictate the entire state, and hence, she is no less than a dictator."

"We have planned a peaceful protest, and it would not harm anyone. Still, the government does not want to allow anyone to show public resentment against its wrong policies, failures and misrule," Bahuguna added.

The Nyaya Yatra, which is planned by Congress, is expected to go ahead despite of denial of permission, sources close to Congress told the media.

Reacting sharply to the Congress comments, Mayawati, blamed the opposition of trying to bring down her government at any cost. “I won't be cowed down so easily. Let them see for themselves what is happening outside UP and take actions to set right the wrongs happening there. Why are they just targeting minor incidents happening in UP?" she questions.

Meantime, Mayawati is expected to hold a high level meeting in Lucknow this evening to take stock of circumstances leading to Dr Sachan's death and progress of investigation thereof.
