Lucknow, Jun 27: Protesting the spurt of crime though denied permision Congress leaders treid to march rowards the assembly building on Monday June 27.

The detained Congress leader Rita Bahuguna Joshi said media that the government is coward and the party will continue its fight against the poor law and order situation and herassment to the women. She also challenged the government to arrest them for violating the imposed Section 144.

The authorities caught between the politiacal battle of Congress and Mayawati denied permission for the march.

Addressing the meeting Joshi said that women and girls are not safe in UP and several rape cases have been recorded in past six months.

Party workers led by Joshi attempted to march towards the Vidhan Bhawan but they were intercepted near KKC trisection by the police. The police arrested many party functionaries including Joshi after a little fuss.

Joshi's attempt to slip away was faltered by the police and she was arrested few metres away.
